These Are The "Average" Front And Rear Ends Of Seven Popular Car Types

Whenever a new car hits the market, no matter what car manufacturer it comes from, you can be assured that people online will complain about it looking too similar to other vehicles on the market. We generally disagree with these complaints as it is quite often the more subtle styling aspects of a car’s which differentiates it from others.

However, after checking out these intriguing renderings published by Australian insurer Budget Direct, we’re starting to understand what everyone is talking about.

The renderings showcase what the front and rear fascias of the average vehicle in seven specific classes looks like. Those vehicle categories vehicle are pickup truck, utes, hatchbacks, sedans, SUVs, convertibles and crossovers. The team behind the renderings gathered the 25 “most typical cars of the type based on sales and general popularity” and proceeded to mash them together to see what the final product would look like.

A look at the average pickup truck reveals that it combines the sleek designs of some models with more rugged off-road looks of pickups like the GMC Sierra and Chevrolet Silverado.

We find the average hatchback to be particularly interesting; in general, they have quite small front grilles, similar to what you’ll find up front of the Nissan Leaf. Most hatchbacks also stand surprisingly tall and feature upright rear fascias as opposed to the sportier fastback style which was more commonplace a few years ago. The average sedan reveals that large front grilles are now the norm alongside headlights running diagonally towards the front wheel arches.

Check out the renderings in the gallery below and let us know in the comments which one you are surprised by the most!
